Poultry Farming
Student Ratings & Reviews
Poultry farming is raising birds like chickens, ducks, or quails for meat (which is called boiler farming), eggs (which is called layer farming) or both (which is called dual-purpose). To succeed in poultry farming you need proper housing, staged feeding, good biosecurity and vaccinations, heat/light control, and solid record keeping. Advantages include fast turnover, high demand, and low space needs, but challenges are high feed costs, disease risk, load shedding, and finding a market. The golden rules are to start small, keep everything clean, follow a vaccination program, and secure your market first. To start you need to know and make business plan which will help with the future of your business.
